Properties of a circle:

Today let us start learning with properties of circles. All of you know that what is a circle. Circle is a most basic shape of geometry in math.

Some important properties of circles are listed below:

• Circles are simple closed curves which divide the plane in to 2 regions, an interior and an exterior
  
• The common distance of the points of a circle from its middle is called its radius.
• Area formula for a circle is given by A = Pi * R²
  
• Radius of a circle is the line from the center of a circle to any point on the circle
• Diameter is nothing but the longest chord of a circle, and it is also known as radii. It measures twice as the length of the radius of that circle.
