In geometry, an equilateral triangle is a triangle in which all three sides are equal. Equilateral triangle is also equilateral; that is, all three internal angles are also congruent to each other and are each 60°.
Area = b a/2
where
b is the length of the base
a is the length of the corresponding altitude
Some points to remember
1) all its sides are equal
2) all its angles are equal with 60°
3) any two equilateral triangles are similar
4) the bisector, median, altitude and right angle bisector of one side/angle are the same line.
5) the median (and all others) have the length of √3/2 S
6) the area is √3/4 S2
7) the perimeter is 3s
8)The sum of the three distance from an interior point of an equilateral triangle to its sides is constant, equal to its altitude √3/2 S
9) Six equilateral triangles form a regular hexagon
